Cigarette butts contain persistent hazardous materials, such as cadmium, arsenic and lead. When discarding the cigarettes, these chemicals contaminate waterways and land. Cigarette butts that end up in waterways are also harmful to both freshwater and saltwater fish.
With increasingly strict health regulations smokers have been pushed out to the streets, bus stops and public squares where there are no ashtrays. With no ashtrays or other opportunities for smokers to toss their cigarette butts away, litter is increasingly becoming a problem for communities and private property owners – and smokers themselves.
Nano-bin is designed to solve all problems for smokers that is connected with not littering. You can use Nano-bin anywhere, it fits in your pocket. And it won't ruin your clothes by leaking ashes or bad smell. We care about all of the pocket, so of course it is wallet friendly too.

The main reason pocket ashtrays have not yet seen it’s glory days is smell. Throwing your clothes away due to persistent smell is not exactly a sustainable option. Our patent pending solution solves that.
The number one priority for us at Nano-bin to consider when trying to solve the issue of littering cigarette butts is that it needs to be used and loved. That is why you can store Nano-bin in your pocket smell-free and when your cigarette packet is empty and Nano-bin is full you can easilty throw them together in the same paper bin.
We use recyled paper, but this is as far as our recycling goes. Cigarette butts needs to be thrown in the paper bin along with other household garbage. Because what all ashtrays have in common is that as soon as you put a cigarette butt inside, it is not environmentally friendly anymore.
Cigarette butts needs to be kept out of nature, there are exciting new technology to re-use cigarette butts - but it is not a feasible solution yet. Every second you have been reading this there has been an average of 150 000 more cigarette butts hitting the ground and possibly ending up in rivers, oceans and on meadows. That is why we at Nano-bin focus on the here and now, not a possible sometime.
Let's do something together right now.
We are as passionate about sustainability as about creating job opportunities for europeans.
The Nano-bin you hold in your hand today is made at a family run factory, situated in Rubio, Italy.
